INTENT TO HOUSE
What is INTENT TO HOUSE?
Quite simply, INTENT TO HOUSE is a new funding initiative, within Telford and Wrekin, with the aim of raising money to fund the purchase of single self-contained flats for people who have been street-homeless. What makes this initiative even more exciting is that for every £1 donated, it will be matched pound for pound by an anonymous donor up to £50,000!
The fund is to kickstart the development of ambitious plans to widen access to accommodation for single homeless in Telford and Wrekin. In particular, it seeks to help individuals who have been marginalised by traditional housing provision, as well as addressing inequalities of opportunity, due to homelessness.
INTENT TO HOUSE has three main purposes:
the prevention or relief of poverty due to homelessness.
1
the advancement of equality, education, and both physical and mental wellness.
2
the advancement of the eradication of street homelessness.
3
There are three funding priorities:
To create strong relationships in and across the communities of Telford and Wrekin with the desire to see permanent homes for the homeless.
To create living spaces where individuals can live safely, independently and is appropriate to their needs.
To create opportunities and confidence from a secure home to enable individuals to fulfil their potential.
Make a donation, make a difference.
